Individual identity verification eligibility, review time and supported identity documents
1. Can I complete identity verification and use OKX in my country or region?
Open the identity-verification page and select your actual country or region of residence and nationality. The page will display the identity-document types and services currently supported for your profile.
Use your own valid, government-issued document and complete the facial check yourself. Do not select another country, region, nationality, or document type to bypass an unavailable option. You must be at least 18 years old, and services are not available in restricted locations.
Passports, national identity cards, driving licences, residence permits, and other government-issued documents are common examples, but the exact list shown on your page is definitive. Some jurisdictions, including Türkiye and the UAE, have more specific document requirements.
2. My identity verification is still under review. What should I do?
Most reviews complete quickly, but some require additional checks. Monitor the identity-verification page, homepage, and registered email.
If the page asks for more information or a new document, complete that task through the official upload entry. If the page shows Submitted or Under review and there is no new task, do not repeatedly submit the same information. If no result or action appears after the timeframe shown on the page or in the latest official message, use the official support channel and provide the submission date and page status.
3. Why was my verification rejected?
Follow the exact reason shown on the page or in the registered email. Common causes include an expired or unsupported document, incomplete or blurry images, information that does not match the document, an unsuccessful facial check, age or regional restrictions, or identity information already used on another account.
Correct the stated issue and submit again through the identity-verification page.
4. My original ID isn't available or is no longer valid. How can I complete verification?
Situation 1: The identity-verification page asks me to update my ID, but the original document isn't with me. Can I upload a copy, screenshot, electronic ID, or a photo taken previously?
Follow the capture method shown on the identity-verification page and submit the original, valid, government-issued document selected on that page.
A photocopy, screenshot, image displayed on another device, previously taken photo, electronic credential from another app, or a separate photo of you holding the document doesn't replace an original-document check unless the page expressly offers that submission method.
If another original document type is listed on the page, such as a passport, you may select and submit that document instead. If you don't currently have any supported original document with you, complete the update after you retrieve one.
Situation 2: The page gives me a deadline, but I can't access my original document yet. What should I do?
Check whether the page offers another original document type (such as passport) that you currently have. If it does, select that document and follow the on-screen capture steps.
If no alternative is available, retrieve a supported original document and complete the task as soon as possible. Continue monitoring the task page and your registered email for the applicable deadline and any additional instructions. Until the update is completed, some account features may be unavailable as shown on your account page.
5. My identity or facial verification is stuck or can't be submitted. What should I try?
If the page keeps loading, the final step can't be submitted, or facial verification doesn't respond, try the following in order:
Record the exact error message and take a screenshot before leaving the page.
Use the latest official OKX app or the official OKX website. Do not install an app from an unknown link or developer.
Allow camera access, clean the camera lens, keep your face fully visible, and use sufficient lighting.
Use a stable Wi-Fi or mobile-data connection and avoid switching networks while the check is running.
If the page specifically requires a SIM card or NFC-capable device, make sure the required hardware is available and enabled.
Close and reopen the verification flow, then try again. If possible, use another compatible device that you control.
If you use OKX Wallet, back up your seed phrase or private key correctly before updating or reinstalling the app. Never share your seed phrase, private key, password, or verification codes.
If the issue continues, keep the screenshot and provide the device model, operating-system version, app version, time of the attempt, and the exact step that failed. These details are needed to identify whether the problem is caused by the device, network, app version, or verification flow.
