1. My institutional verification is still under review or taking longer than expected. What should I do?

Check the institutional verification page and the registered business email for any request for additional information. If additional information is required, please provide it so that the review can continue. If no action is required, the application remains under review; monitor the page and email for updates.

2. I did not receive the institutional verification information-request email or cannot find the submission entry. What should I do?

Sign in to the business account used for the application and open the institutional verification page. Check for Continue, Provide information, or another pending task. Check the registered business email, including the spam and junk folders.

3. My institutional verification was returned or rejected. How can I see the reason and resubmit?

Open the institutional verification page to review the returned section and the latest reason. Correct the specific field or upload the requested document, then resubmit from the same application. Make sure the document is complete, current, readable, issued by an appropriate authority, and consistent with the company information entered.

4. I entered incorrect business information or need to update company, contact, or account-type details. What should I do?

If there are discrepancies with your submitted business information and documents, our Customer Due Diligence team will reach out to you for clarification through email. Alternatively, you can also reach out to our Customer Support team who will put your request through to the right team. Changes might require you to provide additional documents.

A. Legal registration country / country of incorporation

Select the country or region shown on the company’s certificate of incorporation, commercial register, or equivalent official registration document. Do not use the country of a shareholder, director, bank account, customer, or mailing address unless it is also the company’s legal place of registration.

B. Main operating country

Select the country or region where the company mainly carries out its day-to-day business and substantive operations. Consider where the core team works, business activities are managed, and the company’s principal operations actually take place. This may be different from the legal registration country.

C. Fully remote company with no physical operating address

If your company operates remotely and does not have a physical address, you will be asked to select the CEO or equivalent. We will then take that person's address as your company's operating address.

D. Legal institution type

Select the legal entity type stated on the company’s official registration documents, such as a private company, publicly traded company, financial institution, fund, trust, non-profit organization, government-owned enterprise, or family office.

Incorrect country or entity-type information may route the application to the wrong OKX servicing entity, display the wrong document list or terms, or prevent the application from continuing. Do not select a different country or entity type merely to make an unavailable option appear.

If the correct country or legal institution type is not listed, the application may not currently be supported through that entry. If you entered the wrong information, correct it before submission. Otherwise, if there are discrepancies in the submitted information, our Customer Due Diligence team will reach out to you for clarification.

6. I can't select the right Country of Incorporation, the option is greyed out.

This usually happens for one of two reasons:

OKX doesn't support businesses from that country yet.Your account isn't set up to allow that country. This is more common if your Country of Incorporation is in Europe, Singapore, Australia, or the United States — and if you created your account a while back but are only finishing verification now.

If this sounds like your case, please contact Customer Support. They may ask you to create a new account and pick the correct country when signing up.
