How do I update my verified name, identity information, document, or country of residence?

Standard Refresh

A Standard Refresh confirms that your existing identity information is still accurate. If nothing has changed, review and confirm the information shown. If the page asks for an updated address, occupation, legal name, or renewed identity document, provide only the requested information. You do not need to restart the full verification process unless the page specifically requires new documents or facial verification.

Update your verified information

Open Profile > Identity verification and look for Edit, Update, Refresh, Legal name, or a similar option.

If the option is available:1. Select the field you need to update.2. Enter information that matches your current official records.3. Upload the account holder's valid government-issued document if requested.4. Complete facial or security verification.5. Submit the request and monitor the page and registered email.

The update must remain for the same verified person. It cannot replace the account holder, transfer verification, or change the account to another person.

Use the Legal name or Name Refresh entry when it is available. A name update is intended for a genuine legal-name change, spelling correction, transliteration or accent correction, or name-order correction involving the same person. Submit a current official document showing the correct name.

Renew an expired identity document

Complete the update task shown on the identity-verification page and submit the renewed original document. Follow any facial or security check displayed on the page.

Change your country or region of residence after a permanent move

When the residence-change prompt or questionnaire is available, select I have moved to another country, choose your actual new country or region of residence, and complete the requested verification.

Before changing residence information:1. Complete or cancel open trading and Earn orders.2. Switch the account to Spot mode if the page requires it.3. Do not select a restricted country or region.4. Review how the move may change available products and services.

Residence information can normally be changed only a limited number of times. You may be signed out briefly while the change is processed.

A short trip or temporary stay normally does not require a residence change. If a travel or location prompt appears, answer based on where you actually live.

The update option is not shown

If the identity-verification page does not show an Edit, Update, Refresh, Name Refresh, or residence-change entry, self-service is not supported for that account, field, status, or update frequency.

Use the official support channel and explain:1. Why the information must be changed;2. The field and information currently shown;3. The correct information;4. The official supporting document available.

Do not enter inaccurate information, select another country, or repeatedly reinstall the app to make an unavailable option appear.

A residential address was filled automatically

In some supported Latin American flows, the system may read the address printed on the identity document. Confirm that it is your current residential address and correct missing, outdated, or incorrectly read information when the page allows. If the value is wrong and cannot be edited, do not knowingly submit incorrect information; keep a screenshot and follow the correction entry shown on the page.

View previously submitted information

The identity-verification page shows the verified information currently available on the account. For security and privacy reasons, it may not show a full copy of every previous document or every unmasked data field.

Why must I clear my assets before re-verification, and what if the remaining balance is too small to withdraw?

Why am I being asked to clear my assets before re-verification, and what if the remaining balance is too small to withdraw?

If the re-verification page asks you to clear your account activities or assets, this is a required step for that re-verification flow and can't be bypassed. Complete or cancel open orders, redeem any active Earn products, and temporarily withdraw or transfer the remaining assets as instructed. After re-verification is approved, you can transfer supported assets back to the account.

OKX can't convert, trade, or transfer assets on your behalf. If several assets remain, you must manage them from your own account.

If only a very small balance remains:

1. Continue from the re-verification or Change country/region page.

2. Look for a Forfeit button for dust or non-withdrawable balances.

3. Review the asset list and warning carefully before confirming. Forfeiture is permanent and irreversible.

4. After the balance is cleared, return to the verification flow and continue.

If the page requires a zero balance but no Forfeit button appears, save a screenshot showing the page, the remaining balance, and the missing option. Further assistance may be needed, and your explicit consent will be required before any irreversible asset forfeiture can be processed.
