1. Pre-market trading
Trade futures for new crypto before listing on the spot market. Go long or short to gain early exposure and profit from price fluctuations. As the contracts may be rebased, remember to check the latest announcements.
2. Listing and conversion
Once the crypto is listed in our spot markets, your pre-market positions will be carried over and converted to standard futures contracts.
3. Carry on trading
After the conversion, you can trade your positions however you see fit, while enjoying the depth and liquidity of our standard perpetuals markets.
FAQ
OKX pre-market trading allows you to trade crypto that are not yet listed in our spot markets. You can participate in price discovery by trading pre-market futures contracts. When the crypto get listed for spot trading, the pre-market futures contracts get converted to standard futures contracts. Your positions and profits will be carried over; no need for any manual operations.
1. If the new crypto gets successfully listed for spot trading:
• Pre-market trading will stop after the new crypto is listed.
• Your pre-market contracts will be converted to the standard perpetual contracts of the same crypto. Your pre-market positions and trading data will automatically carry over.
• After the conversion is complete, our standard funding rate mechanism will be adopted. You can keep holding the positions or trade them as you see fit. For detailed conversion timeline, please refer to our crypto-specific official announcement.
2. If for some reason the crypto is not listed on OKX:
• Pre-market trading for this crypto will end and all contracts will settle.
• The settlement price will be based on the crypto’s arithmetic average price for a period of time before the end of pre-market trading. It could be set at a very small value under special circumstances, for example, when market liquidity is low. For detailed settlement rules, please refer the pre-market trading terms for each crypto.
• Pre-market trading will stop after the new crypto is listed.
• Your pre-market contracts will be converted to the standard perpetual contracts of the same crypto. Your pre-market positions and trading data will automatically carry over.
• After the conversion is complete, our standard funding rate mechanism will be adopted. You can keep holding the positions or trade them as you see fit. For detailed conversion timeline, please refer to our crypto-specific official announcement.

Prices in the pre-market futures are determined by market behavior and may not accurately reflect the actual listing price of the new crypto. While pre-market futures may reflect market expectations, the listing price may be influenced by other factors and does not have a direct correlation with pre-market futures prices.
